Ty for the share 🔥 I dare say this has potential to be a very powerful and enlightening session and it is happening in the double fire 🔥 🔥 of horse year 🙏 ….. hummm the mystical 11 that is magick of Ain-Soph-Aur or the Sphinx ….. hope I can make that !
This was a really interesting read! I think it goes back even farther than this, back to before the bronze age collapse, but this was a great overview and look at when it entered post-collapse history again. The trade in temple goods included a lot of things that look a lot like chemistry to my modern eyes. Inanna's "hairdresser" and the receipts of what the actual goods being imported by people in that position are recording, and in the same temples with recipes for snakebite cures and hangovers and contraceptives, are one example. The various cultures who used acacia for creating DMT-like compounds, or Tyre doing the same with Murex (which Anat famously beautifies her body with at the beginning of the Ba'al cycle). In Alexandria is where we start getting it in history a millenia after the collapse, but I think it goes back as far as we have temples. Love the philosophy of magic stuff you've been doing lately. I saw your post on youtube about this, and enjoyed the read, and have followed you here too now.
Thank you for the book recommendations, especially the one by Pregadio. It has been difficult to find good academic resources for Chinese/Taoist alchemy. I currently mainly rely on Benebell Wen on YouTube.
The juxtaposition between alchemy and spiritual growth is the Pelican. When you understand the Pelican you will understand, no only the alchemical process but will experience the spiritual growth of self sacrifice and enlightment
